Sunday Morning
Worship is the heartbeat of the Kirk. It celebrates God’s love and what God has done for us in Jesus Christ. Worship is our core response to God, and indeed, is our lifestyle.
Please join us at 10:00 am on Sunday and share in worship and fellowship. We look forward to meeting you.
Our choir is an integral part of our service, enhancing and leading the people in praising God. We are eager to be innovative and include traditional, Gospel, spirituals from the African American worship tradition, and contemporary praise songs which proclaim Christ in today’s language and music. We have a strong and dedicated group of men, women and children, and we invite anyone who likes to sing to join us!
Choir meets twice a month to rehearse on Wednesday evenings for one hour. We begin with warmups and end with prayer. We sing for church services twice a month from September through May.
The Children’s Message is presented by member volunteers. The brief message generally is based on the Sunday Scripture lesson and allows for interaction with the Kirk Kids, on their level, followed by prayer.
Preaching is the proclamation of Christ, the living Lord. We preach Christ “crucified and raised from the dead.” His earthly life, ministry and teaching is celebrated, explored, and applied to life in today’s complicated world.
Stewardship is a ministry area that encourages the church family to realize that all we are and all we have is a gift from God. We therefore aim to be good stewards of our energies, time, gifts, talents and resources in service to Christ. Our Elders develop and present to Session an annual budget geared to maximize our financial stewardship.
Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver – 2 Corinthians 9:7 (NIV)
We are always grateful to those who have cheerfully given to the work of the Kirk of the Lakes Presbyterian Church. We are excited about the opportunities each year brings and are determined to face its challenges as we seek God’s will for our church.
Our Coffee Hour follows the service, and as a family of believers, we relish the time to share and visit with each other.
