Adults

Education sessions are held on Sunday morning or weekly evenings. Recent topics include:
- Jesus Interprets His Own Death (a Ken Bailey video series)
- Church and State/Faith and Nation, in which we explored the complexities of how the Founders of our nation defined freedom of conscience and freedom of religion, and the continuing tensions between secular forces like profit-seeking and the religious forces of ethics and morality
- We also explored how to be Christian in an increasingly pluralistic “public square.”
- During Lent we looked at the atoning death of Christ through Paul’s “Hymn of the Cross” in 1 Corinthians 1 and also, Dietrich Bonhoeffer, how this pastor, theologian and martyr is a modern example of “taking up the cross and following Christ.”
Future plans include establishing a regular, weekly adult class built around a curriculum selected to be challenging and formative of more mature faith.
Men’s Bible Study meets on Saturday morning at 8am. Women’s Bible Study meets on Friday mornings from 11am – 12:30pm. We not only study God’s Word, but also share in prayer, support and fellowship.
Primetimers – What’s that all about? Well, it’s about people who are in the “prime of life” or at least who think they are! It’s about people who are a bit older, a bit wiser and have a great deal of fun. It happens to be for people who are 55 and over. But, we allow some younger folk to join us from time to time. We meet for learning (we’re never too old for that); good programs (to keep our minds sharp); good food (lunch or a snack) and wonderful fellowship (we enjoy each other’s company)! We also take some time to nurture our spiritual lives in the knowledge and admonition of the Lord. We usually meet on the fourth Monday of each month unless otherwise announced. JOIN US! GROW WITH US! STAY YOUNG!
Kirk Couples – Our purpose is to get together in a relaxed atmosphere during this busy season of our lives to share our experiences while we strengthen our spiritual connections. We may gather in a member’s home to talk and laugh, or we may plan an evening out. At any event, we always have fun!
We welcome all adults in this middle age range group (mid 30’s to early 60’s) to get to know us and have fun!
Kirk Photo Club – We meet at the Kirk the first and third Mondays of each month from 7pm to 8pm. The purpose of our photo club is to help people become better photographers. Over the course of a year we cover digital camera basics, equipment, and post processing tools such as Photoshop. We also discuss techniques for sports, nature, portrait, and macro photography. Our meetings typically begin with a scripture reading followed by show and tell when club members bring their photos to share with the group. The meeting ends with the topic of the evening which is chosen by the club members. All are welcome to attend!
Craft and Sewing Group – We meet once a week on Monday, between 9am and 12Noon. The items we make are either for the Bazaar, held in the fall, or to sell at Christmas to Church Members. All crafters are welcome. If you don’t have a craft, the ladies will be glad to teach you.
