Middle – High School

Youth Missions

The Confirmation Class (8th-9th grade) explores Bible content at a more advanced level than children’s Sunday School.  It covers the most important aspects of early Church history, and a focused look at the Reformed tradition, the tradition begun by John Calvin in the 16th century, and in which all Presbyterian and Reformed churches find their roots.

The High School Class (10th-12th grade) has been engaged in an experiential exploration of the Gospel according to Luke.  Each lesson begins with a passage from Luke and then moves on to include self-reflection, role play and relevant you-tube segments.  The class will next be using the Presbyterian curriculum, “We Believe.” Our teens have participated in mission projects, including a CROP walk for hunger relief, and a mission project in a south Chicago Presbyterian Church.

basketballSaturday basketball is for all members and friends, from 5th graders to adults who want to play.  Teams are picked each Saturday morning at 11am and they play until 12:30pm. The season lasts from October through the end of March. Bret Reed organizes the league and provides coaching tips for the younger players. The season ends with a pizza party.

Youth fellowship includes informal mission projects and fun!
Our projects this year have included participating in a CROP walk for hunger relief, a mission project in a south Chicago Presbyterian Church, and a walk to raise money for PADS.
