Boy Scouts

As the Charter Organization, the Kirk of the Lakes Presbyterian Church sponsors three Boy Scouts of America organizations: Venturing Crew 388 (coeds ages 14 through 20); Boy Scout Troop 388 (boys ages 11 through 17); and Cub Scout Pack 388 (boys ages 7 through 10) .

The Boy Scouts of America is a values-based youth development organization that seeks to build character, develop responsibility, citizenship, and personal fitness.  This development is done with an underlying basis of personal religion  that is seen in both the Scout Oath;

On my honor I will do my best to do my duty to God and —–

and the Scout Law;

A Scout is trustworthy —–, and reverent..

By providing this sponsorship, the Kirk is supporting this religious base and contributing to the positive development of young people.
