Catharine Coon is a missionary serving with Hope Alive in Uganda.  She is a devoted follower of Christ and serves the people of Uganda with the hope of Christ. Currently about 500 children and their families are touched by the healing hope of Jesus, ministered through the caring staff of Hope Alive! and the local churches with which it works.
Hope Alive! (formerly Children of Hope), begun in October 2002, is a relief project focused on orphans and fragile family units. The project works closely with local churches in the slums of Kampala, Uganda’s capital, in the poor, rural area around the town of Masaka in southwestern Uganda, and in the Sudanese refugee camps and Ugandan internally displaced persons camps of northern Uganda.

Through educational assistance, evangelism and discipleship, micro-finance, and other means, Hope Alive! seeks to impact children and their families with the healing hope of Jesus, enabling them to thrive even in difficult circumstances and in turn impact others with God’s love and hope. Today we have over 1,300 church planters with over 5,600 house churches, a leading theological seminary in Nagpur with 27 regional training centers and many compassion projects including our 18 Mercy Homes and our Helping Hands program, which together serve over 440 children. This year about 500 students will be trained to become tomorrow’s influential leaders for Christ’s Kingdom.

Larry and Sheila Benson serve as missionaries in Helene, Honduras with Mission Encounters International. Their work there includes a medical clinic and an English-speaking school. Larry, Sheila and their 3 daughters have all served the folks of Helene with love and compassion. “The MEI campus includes a large 2-story main building that houses our medical and dental clinics, a kitchen, and a dining/meeting room on the lower floor. Staff housing and short-term team rooms are found upstairs.  Numerous outbuildings serve as married housing, workshop space & “utility” provision.

Our campus also hosts the campus of Helene Christian English School in the rooms surrounding the large lower deck.
Our vision is simple: Reach, Teach, and Send in the love of Jesus Christ in both creative and tangible ways.
Our mission is to work with the islanders and to empower them through education, Biblical culture and health care. We reach people in the community with the kindness and love of Jesus Christ by providing spiritual, educational, medical and dental care.  We teach and disciple through Bible studies, a Christian English school, and local pastors training.

We send individuals and groups to proclaim the Gospel by training local and international leaders.”
