- We are Christians first and share that identity with all other Christians.
- We embrace a particular heritage called the Reformed Tradition which began in the Protestant Reformation of the 16th century. It grew out of the theology and practice of John Calvin, who sought a church that would be “more Reformed” than the movement of Martin Luther.
- We believe in the Holy Trinity of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
- We believe that God is personal and relational.
- We believe that Jesus is God incarnate, that his death is redemptive and his resurrection is victorious. Eternal life is a quality of life with him now as well as being with him forever.
- We believe that we are saved by faith in Christ alone, not by our attempts at good works.
- We believe that the Bible alone is the supreme witness to Christ, and that church traditions and authorities on earth stand under the authority of Scripture.
- We believe that Christians are equals before God (the priesthood of all believers).
- We believe that all things are under the sovereignty of God.
- We emphasize the idea of covenant. By God’s grace, God initiated a firm and sacred promise to his people. This begins with the story of Abraham and the Hebrew people, through the story of Israel, and culminates in the birth, life, death and resurrection of Christ.
The glory of God expressed in the person and work of Christ is at the center of our faith, and therefore we promise to be stewards of our lives and world in order to praise and magnify God.
